Chem Technologies, Ltd. Announces Licensing Agreement with DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers to Bring Low-Cost Curative to US Market

(Middlefield, Ohio) – May 25, 2006 – Chem Technologies, Ltd. today announced a licensing agreement with DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers to bring Chem Technologies` Advancure™, a low-cost direct curative, to the North American elastomers market in 2006.

Advancure™ is based on patented curing technology from DuPont and is enhanced with an innovative dispersion technology from Chem Technologies. It will be made available to the US market initially through Chem Technologies primarily for use in curing Vamac® ethylene acrylic elastomers.

Advancure™ will be showcased at the ACS Rubber Division show in Cincinnati in October.

Vamac® ethylene acrylic elastomer is designed to withstand high and low temperatures and aggressive new automotive fluids in underhood applications such as seals, gaskets, ducts, hoses, boots and dampers. Testing shows Vamac® compounds cured with Chem Technologies Advancure™ provide the same high performance of comparable Vamac® compounds with current curatives at a significantly reduced cost.

“We are very excited to work with DuPont on this project,” said Bonnie Stuck, Chem Technologies’ senior vice president-technology. “We have been working with DuPont for over three years to develop this product and are pleased to be able to supply this low cost curative to the cost-conscious automotive markets.”

The curative technology is focused on HMDA (hexamethlyene diamine) as a replacement for HMDC (hexamethylenediamine carbamate) types. Advancure™ is a free-flowing, dust-free powder that can be used to cure the majority of Vamac® products at a lower cost compared to traditional curing technologies.

“This curative is a great breakthrough and illustrates how we at DuPont are working throughout the value chain to help bring down overall costs in the price-sensitive automotive marketplace,” said Doug King, Vamac® market development. “Since Advancure™ can be used to cure a majority of Vamac® products, this offering is truly a win-win situation for us, Chem Technologies and Vamac® customers.”

Chem Technologies, based in Middlefield, Ohio, is a supplier of custom single and multiple ingredient chemical blends in a preweighed and prepackaged delivery system. Please visit our website at www.chemtechnologiesltd.com for more information.
