Viton® FreeFlow™ > Applications
In addition to reduced melt fracture and die build-up, film processors will see dramatic improvements in processing with DuPont™ Vitonฎ FreeFlow™ including:
| Lower operating costs
Increased output
Improved gauge control, cooling
Efficiency and physical properties
Increased melt strength
Improved bubble stability
Reduced need for blending |
|
Metallocene resins can present processing problems. In research conducted by DuPont, resins with Vitonฎ FreeFlow™ were processed with a 25บC lower melt temperature with the same die pressure. This translates to higher melt strength, and faster cooling for optimal processing conditions.
During the manufacture of jacketing for wire and cable, die build-up can develop. The deposits on the die aversely affect production rates and surface quality. The use of Vitonฎ FreeFlow™ reduces die build-up and improves processing and surface finish with no effect on electrical properties or permeability performance.
