The First Automotive Multi-Purpose Elastomer

For more than 75 years, Neoprene polychloroprene has been the industry workhorse for underhood, chassis and adhesives applications. Even with today's broad selection of specialty elastomers, Neoprene remains the choice for applications that require a reasonably priced, mid-performance polymer with a good all-around balance of properties.

  • Displays outstanding physical toughness
  • Outstanding resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting
  • Resists degradation from sun, ozone, and weather
  • Performs well in contact with oils and many chemicals
  • Remains useful over a wide temperature range

The ongoing use of Neoprene in applications such as CVJ boots, hose covers, air springs, power transmission belts and adhesives attests to the staying power of this durable elastomer as a viable engineering material for automotive systems.Neoprene is a proven performer delivering dependability at a reasonable cost in demanding applications.

  • Neoprene Belts for Combined Harvesters
Neoprene provides reliable power transmission for hundreds of horsepower in these large agricultural vehicles. It resists abrasion better and provides much longer lifetime than other elastomeric materials for these powerful machines.

  • Adhesives
Neoprene is available in either waterbased or solvent polymers to provide quick grab and high strength for efficient assembly. Whether for fabric or foam, Neoprene delivers the adhesion required.

  • Chassis and underbody systems
Today's uses of Neoprene include a wide range of specialized part and assemblies, many designed for long term noise attenuation and vibration control. Shock absorber seals, vibration mounts and air springs are major contributors to the smooth, silent ride so important to the modern passenger car. CVJ boots, hoses, brake cups and boots of Neoprene provide worry-free performance in critical braking and steering systems in all climate conditions.

  • Hoses
Neoprene is still the preferred tubestock polymer for dependable performance in contact with various media used in automotive equipment and provides leakfree reliable service for the lifetime of the car.
